So next week I turn 30. 30. wow. I can't believe it. I really don't feel 30. I've been talking about it with my girlfriend Teresa at work- trying to plan my party- and she says to me, "Of course you don't feel 30, because you act like you are a teenager." To this, I laugh. This is true. She acts much more mature than me and she is 5 years younger. And I'm the one with a 9 month old! ahahahha! I love it, though. I'm over turning 30- I think growing older is awesome. I don't really see what the big deal is about your 'age'. 30 is the new 20 anyway, right? At least according to People magazine! :)

My faux hawk returned this weekend. My hair before was longer in the front kinda like a bob- but then spikey in the back... That was cute while I was at work, but then the minute I get home- I want EVERY hair out of my face. Pebble's ponytails on the top of my head, headbands... both together. It was stupid. That is why I don't grow my hair out anymore, because it was always in a ponytail, unless I was 'going out'. I'm married and Tyler thinks I'm hot no matter what. I must admit though, the girl who cut my hair did NOT know who to cut a faux hawk. I definitely have a BUTCH cut right now! ahahahahahah! And unfortunately, it's SO short, that there is no hair left to 'fix' to make it better. eek! I just have to let it grow out a tad. And where a lot more make-up. :) After she chopped it, I was afraid Georgia would react differently to Mommy-with-no-hair. But she didn't even flinch. She was just happy I was home from the salon.

April/May

Those first fotos were Georgia in her Easter dress. Now she is a pro at sitting up on her own. And then that is a pic of us at the March of Dimes March for Babies this year. We are with Angela and her boys. she is a friend from work. Georgie is in her stroller staying out of the sun. I headed our Campus fundraising this year. We raised over $600.00 with donations and with a Nacho Sale at work.

My Mom has been laying it on thick about us not putting up a recent post... so this month in a nutshell... we have been sick. Ty started catching a cold the first week and then Georgia got a runny nose and then I got a sore throat. Georgia got over her cold in just a few days but we continued to feel crappy. Tyler went to the doctor and tested positive for the flu- which for the doctor's office meant that he probably had the Swine flu. I went and got tested- but I was negative. So we had to quarantine him- Georgia and I packed up and went to Grandma's. he was able to go back to work the next week but then got a call at work- the very night he had gone back to work- that he didn't have the Swine flu, he had Whooping Cough. It's highly contagious and he was to immediately leave work and go home. during this time I had been going to work and I just couldn't kick this dry cough. well, I made an appointment for the next day and so did my mom. when I walked in the office- they put a mask on me. they swabbed my nose- horrible! and gave me a prescription. They told me not to go back to work until Monday- of course Tyler is at home too. so we are both quarantined now. Georgia is fine because she has had boosters for whooping cough - Mom was okay too, she had a tetanus shot a few weeks ago and that had whooping cough in it, too. Whooping cough? Come on! who gets WHOOPING COUGH! I thought that was one of those viruses that with vaccines- just didn't exist anymore! well- it does. And we got it from somewhere.

So April, Georgia has joined the ranks of crawlers. We have been able to corral her in our living room with our ottoman blocking the way to the rest of our apartment, except today she started figuring that out. she kept crawling over to the ottoman and pulling herself up and whimpering. She will do this while Ty and I are not in the living room with her. While we are in there with her she is content. OH! yeah and this past Monday Georgia pulled herself up all by herself! Now we just can't throw things up on the couch.

This morning, I also checked her gums and she has a 3rd tooth! So that is her two front bottom teeth and she just cut her top front left tooth. she is enjoying the new world of baby food with all the new tastes. the only thing she seems to really not care for is the Ham and Beef. I don't blame her. That is the one food I can't bare to taste.

April news

so I guess our blog is a monthly thing now?! Let's see- nothing too big is going on with everyone. The biggest thing is the new member of our family. We have surrendered my cat, Chiquimula to my mom to keep her company. :( So without her here, I finally gave in to Tyler's 5yrs of pleading for a dog. We adopted Napoleon last Saturday. He is a Yorkie Bichon- (Yorkshire Terrier/ Bichon Frise mix) he is absolutely adorable. And truth be known, cats are A LOT different from dogs. it has been a true adjustment for me... I'm still trying to figure out how to interact with him. But Tyler is loving him! he is 2months old- and NOT potty trained, so you can only imagine. here are a few shots of our little Napoleon (or Poley for short)... and there is a shot of GK in her jumper. :)

a few photos

here are a few shots I have here at work...
I believe I've mentioned before that Tyler likes to pick a color and then dress GK in that ONE color. This day's color was Purple. That's Georgia's favorite dolly- her Minnie Mouse from Gramma Phyllis. Georgia was lucky Minnie was wearing purple. Tyler has been known to also coordinate the color of her car toy.

Then here is an action shot of Georgia's moving skills... she first pushed her "toy on crack" (to the left of Gigi's head) under the coffee table, then scooted under there herself. We definitely need to start baby-proofing the apartment! I'm still trying to figure out how she got under there...

And we have a morning nap shot. she noticed these amazingly entertaining socks of mine so of course she has confiscated them. she has just as much fun if not more with one of those dumb socks then a "regular toy". here she has collapsed on it after too much fun. You can also see a faint dark outline underneath her (and the sock) that is not a shadow, it's drool. :)

Update!

so I'm finally updating the blog! what's been goign on the last month:

  • Georgia started eating "baby food"
  • GK cut her first teeth in Feb! her bottom right and then a week later her bottom left!
  • GK just this Monday started going up on her hands and knees
  • We celebrated our 4th wedding anniversary on the 19th of February.
  • The Fam had to stay with Gramma Phyllis for 2 weeks as our water heater went out in our apartment
  • Manda started class again... statistics!
  • Tyler has perfected the art of putting Georgia down for her naps
  • We are preparing to set up the nursery. GK still is in her pack and play in our room.
  • GK has also developed a love of blowing raspberries. she especially likes doing it with a mouth full of baby food. :P
  • Georgia is also pushing herself around; she'll be one place one minute, and 3 feet away the next!

Obviously, we've not been good about keeping the blog up. Things have just been too crazy! As always... we will TRY to do better. :)

The girls are sick...

Pray for Tyler. Both me and Gigi are sick and Ty is feeling a little overwhelmed. :( We both have a cold with a nasty cough. He took Gigi to the doc this morning, and she had this breathing treatment with meds in it, or something... i guess she HATED having the little mask on and cried the whole time. so the two of us slept most the day; I stayed home from work.

Saturday Georgia had another first! She was getting a bath and we were just finishing up and then I hear Muuuuuurrrrrraggggggghhhhh! I look down at her, confused, and see two long skinny snakes emerge from between her legs. I immediate start laughing and cheering that she was able to get all of that out! She has been a little constipated as she has been getting this cold. I love how oblivious she was. She just kept smiling away and splashing. And it probably didn't help that I was laughing and smiling too. ahahahahha!

Happy New Year!

Alright, so I haven't updated our blog in awhile. But I have a baby what do you expect? And we moved, and had family for Thanksgiving, then had Christmas, and started school again... and we have just been busy. I don't really have that much spare time to dink around on the computer anymore... I'd rather be playing with Georgia. She is a few days shy of 5mos old now and is doing great. We are pretty sure she is starting to teethe as she is a drool machine now! she loves blowing spit bubbles, and putting everything in her mouth. she is rolling over now and is convinced she is a "big girl". She always wants to sit up or stand, she doesn't like to be held like a "baby" anymore- unless she is getting her bottle! Me and Tyler's schedule has been very trying the past 3months. We commute 2hrs each way to drop off GK at her grandmother's house in Mesa- and then drive back to Phoenix for work (during rush hour). So we don't get home until 7ish every night. We are all together, but I nap on the way to work and Tyler naps on the way home. It's been very hard to spend time together as a couple. When we are together- it's usually one of us holding/ playing with Georgia and the other one is eating breakfast or dinner. Tyler's schedule should be changing here Feb 1, so we will see how that affects our commuting/ quality time together. :) We miss each other. lol- that's sounds so sad! We sure do love our little girl though- and it's worth it in the long run. Here are some recent phone shots I have taken. That first one was just taken today.
